Aza,

You need to decode the FLAC files to WAV format. FLAC Frontend will do the trick.
Just do a web search on FLAC Frontend and download the tool.

Alternatively, if you use a program like WinAmp, MediaMonkey or Foobar2000 those will either play FLAC files natively (in the case of the latter two) or with a plugin (in the case of the former).

Any difference in quality with playing the FLACs native vs. decoding to WAV?

Nah, same quality. That's the point of flac (and similar lossless formats). They reduce the file size of the audio without compromising sound.
