Weird. I had the same problem trying to play the track with VLC. I converted it to mp3 and it played fine. Perhaps the file is fine.

I'd guess the lineage is probably something like Tape > Tape > mp3 > mp3 > whatever editing/tweaking the people who made the CDs did > CD > FLAC.

Still, probably negligible quality deterioration.
