The Clash - Leicester De Montfort Hall - 12 February 1984

Post by ic1960 »

I have finally unearthed some of my master tapes from the 1980s. Some may have circulated via the tape trading route but I can guarantee none of them have been digitised directly from my master cassettes. My first offering is the Clash from Leicester 1984 and what a great night it was too. I will leave it up to forum members to judge whether this is better than any circulating versions of this show and welcome your comments. With any luck I might have a Mescaleros show from Sheffield Leadmill 2000 to share later on after I have been to see Wilko Johnson. Watch this space...

Just had a quick listen this morning. Sounds great thank you very much for sharing mate truly appreciated. I might give it a slight remaster and I'll knock up some artwork if that's ok with you?

How does this sound compared to one on megalist? Assuming it’s on the list.

And cheers to OP for uploading this! This is so appreciated.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Yes it's on the Megalist. The megalist version is not bad at all more in your face with the treble and does have Kosmo's intro. This new source is more bass sounding and a more rounded. I am going to remix/remaster it as soon as.
