I agree, tho I don't know how much he actual contributed to "World Destruction" or "Open Up" besides his voice.
Album was the last album where he put any real effort into his singing. Since then it's been this high intoned whine that is probably easier on his throat, but sounds bored.
Metal Box is pretty much the last hurrah for him as an inspired lyricist, too. That stretch of

First Issue, and

His solo album ruins my thesis because it is the great thing to be recorded by mankind besides Cut the Crap.
