High(er) bitrate rip of EW?

Post by Inder »

Can anyone supply a better quality rip of Earthquake Weather? I think there's one copy at 128 that's been going around for over a decade.

TIA

I have a copy which I could rip but I don't know what '128' is in relative terms to my ken.

This is an album I still feel sorry about. It would have made a better e.p. as a record, as a snapshot of someone who's lost their direction it is spot-on, although there could never be a good soundtrack for that, could they? 'Island Hopping' could be a template for what Joe did musically for years to come.

I remember seeing silly prices for this, a silly album with too little depth and not the vital spark of inspiration that could have put some of the better songs into a better place.

got EW as a 320 rip, with some slightly better sound, on one of the computers... is that enough?

I smell an impassioned Inder defence of BWYC coming up. :twitch:

I'll defend it by saying it's at least catchier and more memorable than Slant Six.

In the same way that the Holocaust is more memorable than the Hindenburg?

It sounded like a poor rip on release, will this improve it?
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

It should improve it, but yes this album has a pretty crap master job.

A remix would be nice for this album, bring up the murky vocals, tone down the instrumentation... be one hell of a job though.

Overall I'm glad I have this album as a collector's piece, however it doesn't get much rotation, especially after the first 3 songs.
