I believe she was the post-punk sister of The Prince of Ublic Aut.
Forces have been looting

Curfews have been curbing
The end of liberty

I will never tire of Oliver's Army. Every musical and lyrical detail of it is filled in perfectly, not a space or syllable wasted.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

I feel the same way, it may very well be my favorite track on Armed Forces.
God, what a mess, on the ladder of success

A perfect song.
Re: The Mighty Musical Observations Thread
I've shared the story about doing that song in karaoke in a room full of minorities without remembering the lyrics at all. When that second verse rolled around, there was a lot of "oh shit...uh...."
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.
Re: The Mighty Musical Observations Thread
Yeah its a tough one to explain over here, especially with conflict in NI mostly over from a military/paramilitary perspective and not being in the news cycle here for the past 20 years or so.

Did I just go back in time? I'm sure I only read it here fairly recently. May have been an old post. Still time doesn't really exist only clocks or something.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑16 Jun 2021, 11:21amI posted it but closer to a couple years, I'd guess. Theory: Bernie claimed Cut the Crap was timeless (well, I'm sure he said something stupid like that about it), but maybe it broke time and we're trapped in 1985.Marky Dread wrote: ↑16 Jun 2021, 11:24amDid I just go back in time?
