I got real into Tom Waits around 2008-2012 but haven't listened to him much in recent years. I put on Bone Machine this morning and god damn is it good. Might be my favorite of his except *maybe* Rain Dogs.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I just heard two of the worst sings ever while in the hardware store.

Song 1: the chorus was something like "we could be the healing we could be the flower in the gun". If sounded like a mix horrible mix of gnu country and modern pop, and some other horrible things thrown in. My how far Michael Franti has fallen.

Song 2, you know em, you hate em (excepting Heston and Tom) yes Starship or whatever the fuck they refer to themselves as. "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us".

I need to be more like Doc and where earbuds in stores.

I googled it and lasted about 30 seconds. Devastatingly awful.

There are too many people I know who love what Michael Franti is up to. Jimmy Buffett for Xers and millennials

Yes.
Its one of the worst somgs Ive been subjected to in a long time. It was like that crappy John Mayer song but somehow much worse.

Im going to need to listen to some extreme noise terror to wipe that shit out of my mind.

Hello,

Loggins.jpg
I'm good with the song from Caddyshack (mainly because it was in Caddyshack) so does that make me a heretic or gnostic or what?

Dude was the king of the 80's soundtrack:

"I'm Alright" - Caddyshack
"Footloose" - Footloose
"Danger Zone" - Top Gun
"Meet Me Half Way" - Over the Top
"Nobody's Fool" Caddyshack II

Oh man, I want to send this to a guy I work with that is a huge Loggins fan. Unfortunately, he's also super christian, so it probably wouldn't go over well.

Can you do it anonymously? Because I think this would be a divine mission.

All the more reason to do it. After all he can only forgive you. ;)

That's from the movie Mannequin, a believe. Terribly classic 80's soundtrack video with clips of the movie cut into the video. Grace Slick is a mannequin who comes to life to duet with Mickey Thomas. It's terrible all the way around.

When I first saw this I seriously thought "when did Kenny Loggins die"
