Saw QOTSA a few times last week. Not sure if anyone here is a fan but they put on really great shows and my only complaint is that I would have preferred maybe a touch more variety in the setlists.
Friend of mine saw Steve Earle last night. Said it was a great show, opened with the Pogues classic If I Should Fall From Grace With God.
Saw him do a benefit gig with Billy Bragg for the Woody Guthrie charity a number of years back. The two of them were amazing, but we had to sit through a band fronted by Tim Robbins and a band with a guy from Pearl Jam that was not Pearl Jam.
Highlight of the evening? High fiving Susan Sarandon on the sidewalk outside of Webster Hall.

Went to Agnostic Front/Murphys Law/Grade2 sgow last night. Excellent show. Eugene from Gogol Bordello was there and jumped on stage for several sings with Murphys Law and Agnostic Front. Also chatting with fans at the bar. Jimmy G from Murphys Law offered me some drink tix but I had to decline as I couldn't consume anymore at that late time.

Going this Friday to see Peter Gabriel at First Niagara Center in Buffalo. First arena show I’ve been to (roughly 18,000 capacity) since I saw the Police on their reunion tour in 2008 at the same venue. A couple friends bought me the ticket, so I am paying nothing (I'll probably pay for parking). I’m….looking forward to it. Haven’t seen crazy ol’ Pete since 1988, when I saw him on the Human Rights Now! tour in Toronto.

I'm jealous! PG is one of the few remaining artists on my bucket list. I'm sure it will be a great time!!!

Saw a local Denver r&b singer this weekend whose kind of an institution in Colorado - been around for decades. All covers and whatnot, but she's got a Greta voice and always has a pretty crackin' backing band she plays with. Mostly well known hits, but she always mixes in some deeper cuts that make it evident she knows her stuff. True crowd pleaser in the sense her tastes can appeal broadly and also to hipper crowds. Like, she pulled out some Sharon Jones when I saw her do a Christmas performance one year. Fun stuff.
All of which is a preface to say that this weekend she treated us to one of the coolest, hippest songs of all time: Santana featuring Rob Thomas's Smooth

Thanks man. I’ll probably only recognize half the songs (last PG album I bought was Us), but internet rumor has it that I can (hopefully) expect a second-encore performance of Biko. That’ll do.
