I'm at a trade show at our local Native American casino in Milwaukee. The casino has a restaurant called Rock 'n Brews, which is owned by Gene and Paul. As I was walking past this morning, the song "Let's Put the X in Sex" was playing loudly. Yuck.
How did I give that song a C+ in my review? Other than it generally reminds me of Money Talks (which in fairness, it pre-dates).
Grading on a scale? They can't all be F-minuses!
Can't they?
Not if you're writing about a lot of those garbage songs. It gets kinda dull to say they're all shit … even tho they are. (God, the abuse Hoy endured having to think and write about those songs.)
I miss the honky tonks, Dairy Queens, and 7-Elevens - Boris Yeltsin to Bill Clinton, private note

It's not worth the time nor effort to give each a listen AND consideration.

I'm with you. Hoy must have been atoning for some other crime.

I had Gene's 1978 solo album in my headphones for the walk to work this morning. Still a great piece of work, all those Beatles-y touches sound even better with the cans on.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

They asked Jesus to do it but he chose to be crucified.

KISS on headphones is like buying a magazine with a brown wrapper on it: hiding your shame, protecting the innocent.

Not quite the messiah we thought we were getting.
