One more from that comp...

25 Days of Christmas (Songs), 2018 - Day 17

Thee Merry Widows - Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer

Original release: Psychobilly Christmas
Year: 2008

This track appears on both the Psychobilly Christmas comp (also an excellent collection for folks here) as well as the Riot Grrrl Christmas comp release in 2015 (the only song duplicated across both collections, I believe). I love it.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

25 Days of Christmas (Songs), 2018 - Day 18

My cousin Dylan died of cancer last night, so this is for him...

Bing Crosby - Silent Night

Original release: Merry Christmas
Year: 1945

I believe this is his '42 recording. Anyways, I don't think my Cousin had much time for Der Bingle, but it sounds good tonight. I'll select something more to his taste tomorrow.

Thanks all for the kind words. Dylan had cancer for a while, so this was not a surprise (although obviously still quite sad). Another one for Dylan (and apologies to Rattie):

25 Days of Christmas (Songs) - Day 19

Dropkick Murphys - The Season's Upon Us

Original release: The Season's Upon Us b/w AK 47 [All I Want For Christmas Is An]
Year: 2012

I actually have no idea how Dylan felt about the Murphys in particular, but he was South Boston through and through and the particular style of humor and charm in this song (and in the video, particularly) feels a hell of a lot like him, even if the family being described is a lot less pleasant the he was (or my family is). Still, this song has always made me think of this particularly branch of the family during the holidays, so here it is.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

Pex Lives!
