Love the Stones doing mid 60s Dylan

Great song, wonder why they never played it live, it's simple enough.
"...there's a regiment of soldiers/standing looking on
and the Queen is bravely shouting: 'what the HELL is going on?'..." great line, that.

Muppet, you should be pleased. Stones put on quite and endearing and fun performance on this global citizen streaming concert thing.

The Stones really were great on this. Charlie playing drum pads and air cymbals! Jagger is a marvel at 76.

I like that Charlie seems suspicious that someone might be pranking him.

It doesn't seem like Charlie's playing pads, more likely just air-drums to a pre-recorded track. I'll have to watch again, the Man is such a card - my fave music hero ever, along with Otis and Our Mick.TeddyB Not Logged In wrote: ↑19 Apr 2020, 12:44amThe Stones really were great on this. But yeah, loads of fun - last of the true "Band"-bands? (and yeah, Jagger sounds great, as does Woody. Keef seems oddly dis-engaged).

Yes, I see it’s not drum pads, but maybe a drum app. Not his usual drum sticks. And yes, they are playing to some sort of track that Matt Clifford put together (with the soft keyboard pad). Keith is just trying to act like modern Keith, lost in the groove, with a beer on the table that he likely wasn’t even drinking. I don’t mind. They came off great to me.

Aaah, the wonderful world of Apps. Hadn't considered that, and yeah, not his usual sticks (black and much smaller gauge, not the 5B he's been using since '78 or so. Same gauge I use, natch). And I appreciate the "modern Keith" template, as you put it, but I worry about the man these days - if the gear, drink, head injury, general Keef-ness, is catching up with him? C'mon with that new studio album, lads!TeddyB Not Logged In wrote: ↑19 Apr 2020, 4:31pmYes, I see it’s not drum pads, but maybe a drum app. Not his usual drum sticks. Ho ho, an app perhaps? I'm sure young Charles set it up himself!TeddyB Not Logged In wrote: ↑19 Apr 2020, 4:31pmYes, I see it’s not drum pads, but maybe a drum app. Not his usual drum sticks. New Stones single. Not great, not bad. Cool atmospherics, tho. C'mon haters - disgrace yourselves yet again!

Not great, not bad, not what I’d want to hear from the Stones.
