Andy Rourke’s contribution to the band is both tremendous and hideously overlooked. I wish he’d get more recognition in general.
Nobody ever talks about Craig Gannon …

His work at the first Morrissey solo show in Wolverhampton shall not be forgotten.

Yet, Morrissey likely still hasn't remembered to pay him.

 Indeed, the credits do list him as intern guitarist.

You never know what you're going to get with a Morrissey show or for how long!

Certainly not if you have to travel. It's one thing if you live in the city where he's performing, but if it's something where you're flying in or making a long drive and staying overnight—where there's an outlay well beyond the ticket price—it's a gamble.

He has had a few health issues.

Although quite a private individual, a few years ago Morrissey, 62, discussed his cancer diagnosis and his ongoing battle with depression. The announcement of his cancer battle came after the star cancelled part of his US tour after being treated for a respiratory infection a few months prior. But opening up about his health troubles, the severity was far worse than expected. His other recent ailments have included pneumonia, an ulcer, the throat condition Barrett's oesophagus and anaemia.

I've probably mentioned it before, but my sister and I had tickets to see him in Chicago circa 2013 (or so). He canceled and rescheduled and then canceled the rescheduled show.

I've seen him live quite a few times. He remains a great performer, but no thanks to the Russian Roulette required when purchasing tickets to his shows.

I think this same thought whenever I listen to the Smiths. Rourke's playing is fantastic and is a keystone to their sound, as much as Marr's guitar playing.

Marr plays on a Rourke band song: https://consequence.net/2022/11/johnny- ... g-forever/
I really want to like anything that Andy does - and even more so when Johnny is involved - but it's a struggle.
