Great One Off Live Performances...

It has to be great or don't bother...

There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

The footage remains maddeningly elusive, but the B-52's doing "Rock Lobster" on SNL in 1979 or 1980 is mesmerizing.

The antithesis of the high street shop of thee same name as the song performed, they weren't called The Sensational Alex Harvey band for nothing, a great performance from 73'ish, Alex was a brilliant performer, those lyrics are amazing, imaginative and pretty dark, a crying shame he died so young

That performance is significantly faster than other versions I've heard.

Its the improv that makes it too, I've heard the recorded version so many times but I never get tired of it, BTW John, that Clash video you popped up on Youtube has been blocked by NBC Universal for copyright reasons, bastards, but you probably got the memo by now.

I'm somewhat of a casual BB fan but this blew me away too. Glad you like it :)
