Dropkick Murphys

Post by noyield »

Has anyone ever been to a Dropkick Murphys concert? They're coming to my campus on Nov. 6 and I just bought tickets. If anyone's been to one before, what'd you think?

I've seen 'em like 5 times now. Sometimes they're on fire and sometimes they're not so great. They usually try and put a little extra juice into their New England shows though, so it should be fun.

I never went and didn't have a good time.

Yeah I've seen them a bunch of times too, it's a whole lot of fun and even if the band had an off night, you could be sure the crowd would make up for it. They still sounded great all the times I saw them though. Definately go.

Get into the mosh pit and yell "Guns of Brixton" at every song break. Loud. Ad nauseum.

They'll either play it or bash you over the head with a guitar.

Either way, it's win-win for the crowd!

Seen em a bunch. It's a fun show, even if theyre not on fire, what with the boozy fanbase and the along-singing. If it's your first DKM gig, you should be having a good time.

I last saw them in 1997. Great show, Mike M was still singing. They're a different band now for sure but I'd go see 'em if I wasn't an angry old fart.

I saw them in 2000 in a huge converted barn-turned bar (with the Dwarves and Bouncing Souls) in Spartanburg, SC. They tore the place up. There were redneck punks and skins literally hanging from the 12-foot high rafters.

Oh! That's right. You're brown.

Saw them once and didn't care for them...they opened for the Sex Pistols in '03...I think the lead singer named his son "Strummer"...

Shit, I'd rather see the DKMs than the Pistols.
