Interested as hell in this, even tho the whole thing is wrapped in sadness. That's one bit of Sex Pistols history where I'm in total agreement with Lydon: there's nothing romantic about Sid's slow motion suicide (or Nancy's). It may have been inevitable, but it's horrible to objectify them as paragons of cool because of their self-destructive instincts.
Punk cool meets punk dumb. A sad waste.
A tragic tale. It's astonishing that Vicious was only 21 when he died. Only 19 when he joined the most controversial rollercoaster in modern music. Too much for a kid like him to handle.
I'm kind of amazed that Winterland to his death was about one year. His descent was jaw-droppingly fast.

I don't think Sid had any problem handling being a Sex Pistol to be fair. Sid was self destructive regardless. I think he would've kilked himself with drugs even if he had stayed a fan. He was a addict long before the band or Nancy. Maybe the greater access to heroin being in a famous band meant he just died sooner.

Looks interesting, I'm in. Going to have to keep my eyes open for where to see this once it's released

Like a kid in a sweet shop mate. I wonder how his life would have turned out if he had lived.

I don't think he could've coped beyond punk really. Sid was always saying he would die young. Sid could sing a bit but he didn't have the talent of the other Pistols so I can see him having a short lived career. Cover versions for a short period but he could barely play bass so not much else going for him. McLaren wanted a whole album of cover versions. It was said that Sid would cover "Mack the Knife" and "Je Ne Regrette Rien" so that would've been fun. Paul and Steve were all set to fly to the US to record an album but then he o'd. Just a sad waste really.

Directed by Danny Garcia who did Rise and Fall if The Clash (Clash 2 doc).

Has any Max’s footage ever surfaced?
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

The "new" footage in the trailer is from Max's.

Right, has this or any other footage from Max’s ever circulated?

Nothing other than a 20 second clip on youtube.

I've watched it twice now. And it is an enjoyable watch. I just have to switch off from any facts being distorted.

A whole episode dedicated to Pauline and the song "Bodies" yet Sid had yet to join the band. So many things out of sync. Still it's a drama not a documentary.

Yeah, I'm not opposed to making alterations to make for a better-flowing narrative, but the reason for many of the changes here is difficult for me to understand.

Nothing more than a lack of care regards timelines. Which is a shame as some of the other attention to detail is excellent.
