Have they previously released a dub Why?
Wasn’t the Stereotypical version just an extended version?
The dubs were all done back in the day not recent.
The three tracks I included on the "Even More Specials" comp "96 Tears", "Why? (Pt. II)", "Why? (Dub)" were all given away as free downloads on their web site a few years back. So not had a physical release. But it's not exactly new to us.

Thanks, Marky! As always, very appreciative of your time and efforts!
Cheers gk.
Hey Marky that 96 Tears demo, is that a Specials demo for More Specials or was it a FB3 demo?
Those three demo tracks were recorded by Terry, Lynval and Neville who went on to be the Fun Boy Three! Roddy had recorded a song called 'Sweet Revenge' (a Skabilly song) with some of the guys and another track that went on to be 'Racist Friend' after the band split and was featured on The Special A.K.A. "In the studio" album which retained Roddy's guitar part even though he wasn't in the band anymore.
Byers also mentioned a long lost song titled 'Sweet Revenge' that has never been heard. According to Byers, "Lynval has the original master which he had been trying to get a copy of for twenty odd years! This song features the sax player who played on Jerry Rafferty's 'Baker Street'. He was jamming with Geno Washington's soul band in a pub up the road who they talked into playing on their session. I don't know the studio where Terry/Lynval/Neville recorded, but the studio where Roddy's lost song and 'Racist Friend' were recorded was next to a funeral parlour in the King Cross area on London."
I found all the above info on the net. "Marco on the Bass blog" which is a great source of info on 2 Tone etc.
So pre Fun Boy Three but after the split.

Probably as much of a Specials track as anything on all the albums that followed "More Specials". Remember the demo of "Why" is also from the same session and sounds exactly like a Specials track. The demo/cover of "96 Tears" wouldn't be to out of place on "In The Studio". So maybe that's where they were heading if they had stayed together anyway. Imagine a cross between "In The Studio" and the first FB3 album and you are not far from "Encore".

All I know is that it is 3 tracks not previously ‘released’.
Apparently the 10” is Gangsters, Too Much Too Young and Why.
Marky as you sad Why was previously a free download given away so I wonder if the release will include Why (ptII) why I really like and to my knowledge has never been released other than by MarkyD (too good to be left in the vaults).
Allegedly new Specials album coming.
I keep getting Facebook / Instagram messages to presale link and when I go there the offer is over.
But I can’t find any other info other than promoting next year’s tour.
Anyone know anything???????

Looks like maybe it was a first pressing offer, linked to the ticket sales offer, but it has closed now so we will have to wait for more general sales? Saw the release date to be on 28 May 2021. Whether that is cast in stone I don’t know.

Thanks Lax that would explain the lack of detail anywhere else. Plus Lynval did say they didn’t even have a title for the album yet.
Lax did you give in to this? http://www.superdeluxeedition.com/news/ ... s-8cd-box/

From what I have seen /heard it is great snd value for money. Just a shame there isn’t a vinyl version or they haven’t included the extra Dance Craze tracks maybe on a bonus disc?
