ZFG, the Hot for Teacher drum intro is hard as shit, but also sounds really cool:
Overplayed to hell, but Zep's "Rock and Roll" intro is another fav. It's such a strong driving and creative intro. "Lust for Life" is another obvious choice. "Tommy Gun" as well.
Part of my first post.
"Lust for Life" is great but then of course it's just a steal from this.

"Get Off My Cloud" - Stones. Duh. (honorary mention to the Specials' Brad for comping Charlie's pattern for the intro to "Do the Dog").
"Fields of Fire" - Big Country (especially the 12" remix, with Steve Lillywhite working the faders manually, in real-time, as he did with all their single re-mixes from the first two albums. Some tremendous drum intros on all those singles).
"Cadillac Ranch" - Springsteen. One of the coolest live drum sounds ever put to wax, Max starts the intro on the back-beat, giving this jolly little hillbilly rocker an insistent drive as the singer stares wide-eyed into the abyss contemplating both spiritual and physical death. Hooray for drums!
"Tramp" - Otis Redding w/Carla Thomas and Booker T & the MGs. One of the coolest struts ever recorded. Again, the precise sound of Al Jackson's drums is paramount.
