I use a service called Backblaze in addition to two external HD's stored in separate locations. The service backs your entire computer to the cloud for $5/mo, the only drawback being that you have to keep one of your HD's connected to the computer so it can keep updating your backup.

I'm mostly a physical media person. Cloud storage is perhaps the best option but yeah the hosting company could go out of business and/or keep charging more.

Writeable DVDs will have a shelf life and individual hard drives are not reliable either in the long term. Locally your best bet is a RAID setup.

Mick's shed is probably the best option. You won't know what you've got in there but you can guarantee it's in there somewhere.

I have one of those album display cases you hang on the wall. I have just changed it from NEver Mind The Bollocks picture disc to One Step Beyond :approve:
