I love Complicated.
That line "Life's like this" just freezes my colon. Just so goddamned trite and obvious.
Are you so old that you forgot what it's like to be young and full of hope?

I have.
I was never young and full of hope. I've just been biding my time, waiting for my age to become socially acceptable with my predisposition.

Do you need any MCR, Green Day, Blink recs? I know their catalogs decently.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Songs that are catchy and not as obnoxious as many examples of the genre
The Ataris cover of "Boys of Summer"
New Found Glory - Hit or Miss
Fenix TX - All My Fault
The Get Up Kids - Ten Minutes
Face to Face - Disconnected
Saves the Day - Freaksih

That's a bunch of peak late 90s/early 00s stuff. There's some modern stuff that I think is worthwhile but doesn't sound like what she's into - Joyce Manor, Cloud Nothings ("Stay Useless" is great).

Shocked that no one mentioned Avril Lavigne. Shocked, I say.
Under no circumstances should anyone, ever, make a compilation CD with Avril Lavigne on it.
Or listen to Avril Lavigne for that matter.
Too late. Skater Boi and Complicated made the first CD.
Personally I'd be using that CD as a coaster by now... Or a frisbee.

Added some deeper cuts from Blink, MCR, and AAR.

Hmmm, 2 songs could make the cut.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

I'm happy to make your daughter a Swans intro disc. :shifty:

After hearing a band she's into called PUP, Swans would be a welcome relief. The twats are Canadian as well.

Growing Up in the nineties Pop Punk was inevitable. I was always more into old school punk and hated blink Offspring and the likes, These are the Bands me and thr Pop Punk Kids could agree on:

Randy
They were great fun live

The living end
Great musicians! Their First five Albums are really good.

Suicide Machines
Some rancid vibes..

Art Brut
Always good for a Catchy chorus

Division of Laura Lee
Their Album "violence is timeless" is actually very good

Millencolin
They seemed to play on every Festival i ever went to

I can only second marky dreads recommendations of the Briefs and the cute lepers. They used to send out diy Demo cassettes to people who ordered stuff through their Website. good Times.
