I've never listened to Sell Out and don't know any of the songs. I guess I've been missing out. Now I get the line in Global A Go Go.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Just don't go into it expecting any anthems a la My Generation or Won't Get Fooled Again. It's quaint weirdo pop songs all linked by adverts.

It's a first draft of what Sigue Sigue Sputnik did on their first album. But where Sell Out is playfully satirical, SSS go full-on McLaren in exposing the commodification of music.

Never been great on the Who, would've voted Live at Leeds if it was an option. Otherwise have to abstain.
