So you vote for Sandinista! over London Calling after all.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑12 Apr 2019, 7:22pmSt. Peppers?
If the Magical Mystery Tour fake album were an option, I might go with that given my affection for Beatles psychedelia, so instead I go with the glorious stew of the White Album. There's pretty much something for everyone there.

I think the best Beatles album isn't on the list. The Yellow Submarine Soundtrack is best.

Ha! But no. The Beatles didn't have an LC that was so clearly better than any other album.Marky Dread wrote: ↑13 Apr 2019, 8:20pmSo you vote for Sandinista! over London Calling after all.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑12 Apr 2019, 7:22pmSt. Peppers?

This is true. I genuinely love the White Album, but I almost always skip it.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑13 Apr 2019, 8:54pmFun fact: Everything on Side 6 is more listenable than Revolution 9.Marky Dread wrote: ↑13 Apr 2019, 8:31pmYou do know that Revolution No.9 is just Mensforth Hill played backwards.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑13 Apr 2019, 8:26pmHa! I hardly ever skip Clash songs unless I’m impatient to hear a specific one. Even the ones I don’t like that much I still kind of like. Rev 9 is unconscionably terrible.Marky Dread wrote: ↑13 Apr 2019, 9:40pmI never skip Mensforth Hill. Seriously Rev 9 is awful.Wolter wrote: ↑13 Apr 2019, 9:14pmThis is true. I've noticed that people always seem to miss the first post in these poll threads.

Actually bought PPM a few years back being inexperienced with their music. Saw Her Standing There, fair enough, great track. Do You Want to Know a Secret and Twist and Shout, good numbers. The rest was pretty wank. Overrated to hell. That includes Love Me Do, urgh.

You're out on a day trip from the funny farm aren't you?BitterTom wrote: ↑14 Apr 2019, 12:17pmActually bought PPM a few years back being inexperienced with their music. The only track I dislike on ''Please Please Me'' is ''A Taste of Honey''. I've disliked it from first ever hearing it 'til now. But there are some great covers on that debut ''Chains'' ''Baby It's You'' are awesome songs.

The only reason that PPM seems slight now is because of what they did afterwards. It's an amazing debut that clearly blew away listeners in 1963/64.Marky Dread wrote: ↑14 Apr 2019, 1:06pmYou're out on a day trip from the funny farm aren't you?BitterTom wrote: ↑14 Apr 2019, 12:17pmActually bought PPM a few years back being inexperienced with their music.
