Scored the Joe single and the new Flaming Lips record with Mick! And my old boss gifted me a copy of The Pink Clash Book, which I never read before! Great Clash-related RSD for me!

Also got the Blood on the Tracks acetate reissue and the Floyd Saucerful mono issue, amongst a few other goodies. Great haul.

I was literally behind the guy who snagged the one copy that came in at my store. I may try and see if any extra stock shows up online at the usual outlets. I think Ramones RSD product usually ends up at or below MSRP after a little while, so I may hold of a few months then go searching for a used copy.

Gave 'em a spin a little earlier, might have to try again. I thought they sounded a bit inessential, but I also realized afterwards I had some dust on my record needle so I think the sound quality was a bit degraded. Nothing that struck me as revelatory, in any case.

Gave the record and my needle and better cleaning and spun it again. I mean, these aren't essential tracks and I'm not in love with Joe's vocals (it's, you know, demo quality). But the arrangements are pretty good. The sax on Forbidden City stood out to me and the bass and piano work on Cool Impossible were quite nice.

Minor additions to the solo Joe catalog, but definitely welcome.

I'll probably play the Flaming Lips LP with Mick tomorrow, that one has me pretty intrigued.

Oh, and the mono Saucerful RULES for anyone interested. Worth trying to track down a copy (or a needledrop).

So I stopped counting when I got to 35 copies of the Madness 7" OSB picture disc released for Record Store Day already up on Ebay :disshame: .
I love the idea of RSD but this just isn't right.

I say the same every year. It just seems to help the greedy and not the true fan. But I suppose it's inevitable.
