It was a lot funnier before it became apparent Gervais was playing himself.
His career was always on the downward imo. The Office, Extras and early XFM radio shows he did with Steve Merchant and Karl Pilkington were excellent. Since then he's not come close to matching it. The 2 films he starred in were piss poor and the less said about Derek and Life's Too Short the better. Mind you his latest series After Life was pretty good so that just proves my theory wrong and I'm talking out my arse.
Haha, love how you lost faith in your argument there.
This happens more often than I care to admit.
Or does it?

I'm still shocked Heston's never even watched the UK version.
I've seen bits of it and it's ok, just not my bag really. I'm really hard to please with comedy.

Technically it's Oliver's turn to post, but post he did not so I'm going to be bossy and take over. This is from Papa Roach, a band I'm not familiar with and what I have heard (not including this one) I haven't liked. But, this is pretty spot on, great chord sequence, perfect solo and power throughout, love it.

Be careful what you wish for because you might be forced to listen to some Insane Clown Posse or Ivor Biggun.

In fairness, I have always completely despised Papa Roach.

I listened to it thrice and it hit home on the third play that it's quite a decent tune. They sound a bit like the Chili Peppers consciously trying to have a hit.

I'm gonna offer up a song I like by Hard-Fi. Their star was on the wane by this time but I thought this was a bit overlooked, better than their two big hits imo...

I do think the farther removed he is from Merchant, the worse his output is.

Is it me next?

I'm offering up a lost pop tune from the early 90s by a Liverpool band called Rain. The Septics will probably hate this but it's a lovely melody in the tradition of The La's or Cast...

I can definitely hear Cast. The vocal is a bit odd. Initially it's really distracted, even lazy sounding, then explodes. But it's a neat little single.

This just popped into my brain machine. Mid-90s Irish group called Blink. Certainly sounds of its time.

I like it best when it does the rapping bit from 1:38 or so.
