"The First Picture of You" by the Lotus Eaters always transports me back to that glorious summer of 83. Young Heston discovered everything that summer. Love, alcohol, recreational drugs and real music. The long hair got cut off and I discovered punk. Yet this pleasant little tune is always the one that takes me back.
Great memory from a great song.

Summer of 83 was a cracker and I’m not talking about the weather 😉

ABC Lexicon of Love, takes me back to when it saved my life (slight exaggeration but it felt like it at the time).

Went on lacrosse tour, managed to get tipped over and land on my head. Had really bad concussion (but carried on playing of course). Was still struggling the next day when we were travelling home. The car window wide open to get the wind on my face and Martin Fry and the boys on the car CD player were the only way I made it home! Not sure this is in the medical manual as the most ideal treatment for concussion.

If I had done it more recently then i think the St John’s Ambulance people might have taken it a bit more seriously and certainly not play on.

Agreed about Lexicon of Love II, very popular CD in the Lax household. Plenty of other good albums too. Beauty Stab, Millionaire etc. Saw ABC accompanied by Anne Dudley and an orchestra recently, a very good night.

Beauty Stab was very underrated and my favourite.

Wasn't '83 the year you made the famous Crossing?
