Heat Of The Moment, a fantastic tune, one of my favourites from the decade.

It came on the radio the other day and I hadn't heard it for a while. It was pretty good in "pomp pop" kind of way. A kind of palatable Rush.

I don't think it did that well over here on release but has somehow prevailed over the years, and become a classic. It has had a similar trajectory to Don't Stop Believin', which was also virtually ignored by the British public at the time.

Gotta be "Come on Eileen." "Centerfold" and "Steppin' Out" are the only other tolerable ones.

They are my favourite three but I plumped for Centrefold. Eileen is just so overplayed over here it's hard to really like it anymore.

For me it's between "Eileen" and "Steppin' Out" - I still hear "Eileen" way too often on the radio but "Steppin" not so much so I went with that.

I get your point about COE being overplayed and has never been one of my top Dexys toons however recently I have a new found love for it. It is a great song (even for a steal).
