I'd take Metallica over KISS any day.
I'd take Lou over either. And Lou with Quine - fuggetaboutit.
This is the correct response.

But yes, I’ll take 80s Metallica over 98% of Kiss if that’s the only choice.
Pre-"Sandman" Metallica beats the hell out of all but a few KISS songs, and I don't even like thrash much.
Rubbish. They are unlistenable tripe.
I hear that's the name of the new KISS box set coming out for Christmas. As a bonus it includes the 4 solo albums.

Right, that's what we're all saying about KISS.

metallica's pre-black album work is genuinely groundbreaking and really stands the test of time. KISS isn't even music in any meaningful sense.

I'd co-sign, but Strutter legit rules. But nothing Kiss did comes close to Ride the Lighting or Master of Puppets as an album.

"Rock and Roll All Nite" merits being on the other side.

And definitely concur with Wolter about Master of Puppets. Seriously good record.

It’s hard given what they became in the 90s to remember how important they were to more underground metal in the 80s.the divide between the thrash bands and the sunset strip glam and pop metal bands was as severe as the divide between the hardcore scene and the New Romantics.

There are few bands that so deserve the tag, "Their older stuff was better." Winning the fight snuffed the spark.

My definition of hippies is different to yours. KISS were a rock and roll band, not some stupid fucking heavy metal hippies.

The funny thing is that bands like Metallica bridged the gap between metal fans and punk fans. They were nowhere near the heavy metal stoner stereotype.

So, you just randomly decide a word means something even though literally no one else uses it that way. Gotcha.
