Neil Peart - RIP
Can't say I'm a huge Rush fan, but I'm somehow shocked by this news.

One of my friends is a big Rush fan and I went with him when they played Milwaukee back in 2013 and it was a pretty darned good show.

I was semi-indoctrinated by my bass teacher when I was coming up, so I have a certain nostalgic appreciation. Maybe that's why they wrapped in not so long ago.
You have to respect them as a band. Not my cup of tea at all (other than the magnificent Spirit of Radio) but they played it their own way and had a rabid fan base.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board
Re: Neil Peart - RIP
I dropped out of paying attention to Rush with Grace Under Pressure but loved that shit from up to and including Signals. Even when I was a punk-post-punk purist I still played Rush, since it was pretty obvious they were listening to a lot of the same records I was.

Oh, I hadn't been keeping up with the news, I thought they were still working. Re: Neil Peart - RIP
They went on hiatus back around 2015 due to Peart's health problems, but from the article I just read it sounds like he wasn't diagnosed with cancer until just a few years ago.Kory wrote: ↑10 Jan 2020, 6:05pmOh, I hadn't been keeping up with the news, I thought they were still working. I'm fairly pleased that all of us, upon hearing the news of Peart's passing, primarily thought of how hard Doc was gonna take it.

Re: Neil Peart - RIP
I once went home with a woman who's roommate was watching a Rush show on a big screen TV. I was drunk and non polite to the man in his own home. On reflection, I have no idea about anything to do with Rush but I would most likely be equally belligerent if the situation was to re-occur.
