Wonderwall is incredibly shit for the reputation it has. Dreary, meaningless, out of key singing, it ticks all the wrong boxes.
Yet you champion "Bittersweet Sympathy." I look forward to dissecting your brain one day to locate the cog that keeps skipping.

Except that it has excellent lyrics and a spot on vocal.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

It's got a catchy chorus, like a lot of their stuff. And the lyrics are deceptively shallow. So it seems like it's deep and meaningful, but in reality isn't. It's an impressive talent.

Interestingly, I remember hearing Champagne Supernova way more on the modern rock radio in 96 or whenever than Wonderwall. WW charted a lot higher, so it's probably a misconception, but I certainly remember thinking CS was a bigger song. Don't get me wrong, CS is also vapid, but kinda catchy.
CS is the sort of song 16 year old me thought was incredibly deep and poetry at its finest.
Isn't that most of Oasis' more successful songs?
Yeah possibly. This one more so for me though,

"Someday you will find me caught between a landslide, in a champagne supernova in the sky." I can just hear younger me spouting pretentious bollocks about how deep the lyrics were despite not understanding them in the slightest.

Just justifying my vote here, give it a listen if you haven't already, one hell of a good song.

All true except for everything you say. (The vocal isn't as bad as "Wonderwall," but it's only spot-on in the sense of stepping on my last nerve.)

I think Your Song is great but Back in Black is an all time powerhouse.

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead

I like this version as well - kind of dated but so am I!

Used to hate oasis and their music with a burning passion. Now i actually quite like noel gallagher and would definitely go for a pint with him. If he started singing those horrible songs though, we'd have a falling out and there would be fisticuffs.

I also like guy garvey and want to like elbow but just dont like any of their songs that I've heard.

I've heard it many times on the radio and it's ok, just a bit bombastic and over-earnest for me. Not a fan of his voice.

I love the Elton track as it reminds me of being a kid. It has a brilliant melody and a lovely sentiment. So shove that up your back in black.

Just wanna send out a little love for Thank You For the Music, a wonderful ode to music itself.

"Without a song or dance what are we?" pretty much sums it up for me.
