Cant believe someone posted a list in which Too Shy isnt actually the worst song.
Eternal Flame gets that title for me.
While I certainly agree it isn't a great or even good song, fuck me it's miles ahead of at least half the shit. Fucking Aha has 5 votes?
An 80s classic is an 80s classic. Banger.

Jessie's Girl for me. Can't believe it has escaped punishment in this thread, it is awful.
I'll say it again its all an utter shit show, there isnt a single song listed that wouldn't cause me to change the station or leave the room.

Fuck me that song and similar, along with Reagan, Thatcher and hair metal are probably the worst things about the 80s.

Yeah its jessies girl for me too, absolute dirge with no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Eye of tiger would vie with Too Shy for second worst but just shades it on account of rocky connection.

To be fair, you were never going to be in Smooth FM's demographic. Is there a Rough FM?
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

No way, that sexy voice alone is enough for me to listen.

Take On Me is decent enough. A pretty great melody which is what good pop music is all about for me. That keyboard hook is one of the catchiest things ever written.

Surprised too for the lack of recognition for GYBR as one of Eltons great timeless classics. Gave the album a spin today just to remind myself how brilliant it is. Never disappoints.

I really can't believe Dolly is beating the Elton song. It's like the Dukes of Hazzard theme tune beating Strawberry Fields in a poll.
I question your command of comparisons.

Agreed.

Top 3 Elton for me along with Philadelphia Freedom and Rocket Man.

Can't argue there. Easily tops Dolly for me.

Unlike Elton who has gone home sick 🤢
Actually to be fair sounds like he isn’t well at all don’t think that trip to the Oscars did him any favours.

Aren't the former songs Redneck anthems and the latter two carefully crafted timeless classics?
