I truly think hating Phil Collins and his music is the only rational point of view.

I don't hate either. He has made some shitty music but he's not exactly Morrissey.

But he's the man who makes the music I hate so much.
And agreed Marky, Morrissey is horrible, a much worse person for sure. The one benefit of being in the US is that Morrissey gets no airplay to speak of but if Im in the car with mixed company and dont have control of the music a PC song is guaranteed to come on the radio within the first 20 to 30 minutes

I’d never ‘hate’ anyone just because I didn’t like their music, if I did I would hate a lot of people.
Re: A huge apology to Wolter and the board
True but as a tax exile I don't see PC favourably.Marky Dread wrote: ↑02 Mar 2020, 6:16pmI don't hate either. He has made some shitty music but he's not exactly Morrissey.
Re: A huge apology to Wolter and the board
Just to clarify I was joking about the hate the man, not the music comment.

Oh I don't care enough about him to know he is a tax exile. But I certainly don't hate him.BitterTom wrote: ↑02 Mar 2020, 6:31pmTrue but as a tax exile I don't see PC favourably.Marky Dread wrote: ↑02 Mar 2020, 6:16pmI don't hate either. He has made some shitty music but he's not exactly Morrissey.

Yeah that's fair. I don't listen to radio much so it doesn't really trouble me.revbob wrote: ↑02 Mar 2020, 6:20pmBut he's the man who makes the music I hate so much.

That's my situation whenever I'm in the car with the Boss, who listens to one of the "mindless music to keep you from killing your boss" radio stations. Despite the emphasis on rhythm and oversinging, it's utterly passionless music. Music for distraction rather than engagement. The kind of stuff that validates the opinions of grumpy old Marxists who add popular culture to the many opiates for the masses.I try not to be a snob, but that stuff makes it so hard to keep a civil tongue.
