New X album, maybe this year.

I'm excited. John just posted a picture of Robby Krieger, who plays on a couple songs. As anybody who has seen them in the last five years can attest, they are as good as ever and their recent shows are some of their most interesting. They put out a 45 recently of two re-recorded songs and you could have told me they were off Wild Gift and I'd believe you. Has the potential to be real good.

I want to speculate about what the songs are. I wonder if they wrote and conceived new songs *as* X songs and brought them to the studio, or if they'll re-record as duets things like Lonesome War or Alone in Arizona. I've always kind of assumed Billy doesn't play country or believe in the more Americana/alt-country approach John and Exene began after he left the group, so reconciling those styles will be interesting to see. I hope they can.
