I missed Kung Fu Fighting by a week.
Now there's a good reason to resent your mother.

I had a friend in college who would always yell out "Kung Fu Fighting" to any band playing at the bar he was in. Didn't matter what kind of music they did, goddammit, they better know KFF.
It is a wondrous song. Originally knocked up quickly for a b-side, it's a funny old world.

Aren't these things scams to find out your birthday? If so then the Spice Girls were number one when I was born ;)

Ha ha, just protecting my personal data. Looks like it was actually the Beatles in the UK .

US - Michael Jackson - Beat It
UK - Spandau Ballett - True

I thought I had never heard the SB song, but I know it well. They should have called it "Ha Ha Ha Haaaaaa-ha" instead. Relistened to the song just now, just the aforementioned hook is worthwhile, everything else is kinda crap.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

It really sucks that this is the song they are most known for, because they have some solid post-punk tunes.
