Wednesday Poll #8 Best Song Ever...

Post by BitterTom »

... on the work's playlist.

Couldn't fit the word You're into the Barry White number.

Anyway, another week, another time I'll happily say I like every song here, maybe aside from the overplayed We Will Rock You. Still undecided on my number one though Dancing Queen is up there for me, fantastic track.

Randy Newman is great so I'm voting for him.

Dancing Queen for me, but it's not as good as Waterloo.

Vienna - I love that song. I also love trolling Billy Joel fans with it.

Those two songs are 1a and 1b for me. Went with "Dancing Queen" as well, but a very close second goes to "Mr. Sandman."

I'm a big Ultravox fan and I watched a documentary about Conny Plank last night...so going with Vienna. Second pick would have been the Stones.

We Will Rock You because it's such a goofy dumb non-song.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Why reluctantly? It is a fucking brilliant song.

Not a bad song but so many better ones. Its a better song than Start Me Up (from last week) though.
