That's pretty cool, Clash cancelled, go see the Ramones instead.AudioAmmunition wrote: ↑30 Mar 2020, 8:22amInteresting one this, Ramones 22-02-80. Originally had tickets for The Clash in Balham that night, trailed all the way down there to find gig cancelled I think due to Topper injuring his hand. Looked around for somewhere else to go and hey presto, Ramones were also in town so 'Hey Ho, Let's Go!'

Yes, totally spur of the moment, don't think we even knew the Ramones were playing that night until we looked around for alternative gigs.revbob wrote: ↑30 Mar 2020, 8:31amThat's pretty cool, Clash cancelled, go see the Ramones instead.AudioAmmunition wrote: ↑30 Mar 2020, 8:22amInteresting one this, Ramones 22-02-80. A thinly attended gig at a (now demolished) seaside theatre more used to hosting Little & Large, The Krankies etc. Although back in 60s hosted the Stones, The Beatles (twice). Also had a semi-secret warm up show for the Pixies Spring '91 European tour. Sadly missed that one as I wasn't into the Pixies back then.

The Pogues, Manchester Apollo. Saw them previous night also at the same venue. This was the Hell's Ditch tour.

Great tickets audio ammunition. I wish I had thought of saving mine earlier than I did. I only started when I saw my mate Graham saving his.

Went to many gigs at legendary Scarborough Penthouse Club where you just paid at the door - no tickets issued so no mementoes. Saw Pistols, Stranglers, Adverts, Xray Spex, Sham 69, Wreckless Eric, Pretenders, Joe Jackson, David Johansen and Syl Sylvain, The Fall, Slaughter and loads more there. Sadly they never managed to book The Clash or The Buzzcocks, had to travel to see The Clash and never got to see 'Cocks.

Oasis - Balloch Country Park, Loch Lomond. A great day, like a mini festival Oasis, Black Grape, Cast, Ocean Colour Scene. The Charalatans were meant to be in the bill but Rob Collins had just been killed in a car accident, remember Liam dedicating Live Forever to him.

Echo and the Bunnymen on the reunion tour promoting What Are You Going To Do With Your Life, one of the few bands who came back and made music as good as their original stuff (for a while anyway, Evergreen was also a good album).

Always a good ticket.
