A thing about thrash I’ll note is that of all the metal subgenres, it’s the one most likely to be political, and even left wing. It’s also the subgenre with the most non-white musicians/fans.

Mustaine was at least sort of left at one point. Now he's also a BAC so part of the territory and getting older and richer has a way of making people conservative. Sacred Reich is an example of left wing thrash.

I'd be working for free, doing the stuff that I want to do. When I see George Clooney doing coffee ads, I think, "Have you blown all your cash on condor eggs?" Let some up and coming actor living in his van do those ads.
In fairness, the album that Enter Sandman came from 30 years ago was considered the completion of that cred evaporation by most of the people who were listening to them in the mid 80s.
I mean, it made them orders of magnitude richer and I assume they never really looked back, but still...
