Are you talking about the fact that they sacked their band mates after 3 albums in order to progress?
No, I just find them overrated as hell.
They've done a handful of decent records but Noel is nowhere near the songwriting genius he's made out to be and Liam's voice whines on like a stabbed cat.
Richie could barely play the guitar but he was brilliant at writing.
Funnily enough I was watching some early manics footage last night and it was a gig where the soundman had his guitar louder than James', it was pretty ok actually.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board
I don’t think Sid is overrated outside of a small cult within punk during a certain era. If anything, by the time I was a teenage in the early 90s he was largely considered a talentless, brainless junkie hack even above and beyond his own limitations.
I don't think Sid is overrated either. There is hardly anything to rate.

Basic rhythm guitar no problem.

With James in the band that would suffice! But yeah, he was as there for his lyrics and his look.

I thought his singing was good!

James is an amazing guitar player and vocalist.

It works ok on the singles "Something Else and C'mon Everybody which are not difficult to sing. The "whooo" bits on C'mon Everybody" is as camp as hell. "My Way" isnt really singing just a put on.

The singer of this pretty cool group, whoever the fuck he is.
"I never doubted myself for a minute for I knew that my monkey-strong bowels were girded with strength, like the loins of a dragon ribboned with fat and the opulence of buffalo dung." - Richard Nixon, Checkers Speech, abandoned early draft

Looks like our local dustman.
Who's the weirdo with the cap?
The love child of Grace Slick and Peter Criss.

He might actually be underrated. He managed to set those lyrics to music excellently. And he’s a dynamo on stage. Very charismatic.
