Jesus, 15 years of us not knowing the new Wire was out. We gotta get a clue!
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead
Pex Lives!

"Three Girl Rhumba" continues to inspire, I guess.
I'll be damned if I learn anything ever again. I'm old, I've done my time!

That's a very casual drummer.

I’ve had Three Girl Rhumba in my head since that Spread Joy song — have we heard/seen this before? Pretty great!

Actually — that Elastica song is all over the new BlackBerry movie ad, so that’s probably why I’ve had this rattling around my head.

It's a funny thing that "Three Girl Rhumba" has almost certainly made the band more money than any other song, even tho it's not likely anyone's favourite Wire song.

Always worth remembering such a weird mismatch. And also *the* Wire, Phase 2, song. As much of a mixed bag the Mute years were, "Drill" is just monstrous conceptual statement.

Only if you identify with Suzanne Somers. Otherwise, Bruce's dry contempt for the whole schtick is glorious.Sparky wrote: ↑05 Jun 2023, 8:11pmThat interview was painful to watch.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑05 Jun 2023, 8:03pmAlways worth remembering such a weird mismatch. Agreed, his band intros were the best part.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑05 Jun 2023, 8:13pmOnly if you identify with Suzanne Somers. Re: So- how didn't I know the new Wire was out?
The stupidity of it all is that there is no way they raised the curiosity of a single member of the audience who didn't already have the album. Just an absurd booking for all involved.Sparky wrote: ↑05 Jun 2023, 8:41pmAgreed, his band intros were the best part.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑05 Jun 2023, 8:13pmOnly if you identify with Suzanne Somers. The "Ambitious" comment in the Top 5 thread made me think about this furious version of "Drill," which the band reunited for in 1996 for Bruce Gilbert's birthday.
