New album in January: https://pinkflag.greedbag.com/mailouts/ ... s-22-10-19

The first listen of the single was a bit of a shrug for me. Leans too much in the direction of Colin's Githead for me. It's not bad, but … slight.

But they're coming to my town, so I have to rustle up someone to go with me.
I have about the same reaction I've had to every single since O47, but the song descriptions seem interesting. Only 9 songs, huh?

Looks like they won't be coming to Seattle, at least til later in the year.
Some people at Pink Flag reported earlier that some of these songs were being performed this year and suggested a more unconventional approach. Fingers crossed because the last several albums, while pleasing, have suggested the band is a bit comfortable in what they're doing.

I was pleasantly surprised by "Sleep on the Wing" from the last album, but I agree. Although we know that the tend to change stuff up live.

Another track from the impending Fitted album. I'm looking forward to it more than Wire. :meh:

Interesting - or intriguing - that the new album is just a regular LP or CD, unlike the deluxe hardback-book package as per recent stuff.
And, as someone who always thought Wire presented their stuff with nice graphics/cover design (which nudged me into buying their recent albums on vinyl), this one looks a bit uninspired.
I'll still get the thing no doubt, but maybe on CD rather than LP...

So they are still nicking names from Floyd.

Pink Flag - Pink Floyd
Both on the Harvest label
Now Sleep on the Wing - Sheep/Pigs on the Wing

Wire = Punk Floyd

The sleeves haven't been as compelling since Bruce left the group, the Change Becomes Us' rush of orange-red is eye-catching.

Plus it's a photo taken in the Seattle library. You too can visit a piece of Wire history (if you come to Seattle).

Oh really? Curious. And, yes, if the Boss ever goes to a conference around there, I'll come with her and we can model cardigans.
