I might could do this.
The most American sentence I've seen on this board since I joined.
Thank god, thought I was pissed.
Me too, then I realised I was. Had to work at the weekend so I'm having a delayed Saturday night.

Same here, Sunsays and Tuesdays off work well with me. Enjoy your night mate

Cheers mate. Sitting here with a glass of white listening to "Mummer" by XTC. Rock and roll.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Think we were gonna get a list of participants and kick it off in alphabetical order? Remember when we did a revolving guest slot in the top 5 thread and no one could ever remember who was next? But chaos is good too.

Do numbers like "101" not come first?

Numbers pfft what is this math class?

It will just be a list of songs related to his first 5 sexual experiences anyway which is a crap shoot at best.

And then there's the whole time travel aspect.

It's not just American. It's American southern idiom. It implies a shade of "this is possible, but not 100%"

I should add that it also depends on the context. If you ask a southerner directly if they’ll do something and they say they “might could do it,” there’s a very good chance they don’t want to do it and are looking for a way out without having to say no. Or they might need persuading. You kind of need context clues then.

Bless your heart.

(There is something weirdly and sympathetically Canadian about proper Southern culture's reluctance to be straightforward. We're just averse to human contact; you're wary of being forced into an honour duel.)
