Hello,

Who's up now?
I think it's my turn but there seems to be an unspoken agreement to turn off the ventilator and let this thread die.
Oh Bunch of Fives, the pipes, the pipes are calling …
But who are they calling?

Bunch of Fives, I guess.

Hello,

If you're up and you've got 5, post them. If no one else does, I may post something Monday.

Right, here you go then. Still sticking to my self-imposed "German only" rule.

The chorus translates to "Jump out of the window for me." Do it now!

This is Dortmund. I think I recognize the airport.

A catchy little number from the early 80s' New German Wave.

I always confuse the Humpe sisters, but one of them is part of this duo. Just a cool song.

Finally, some dirty punk. A decent cover of the Scherben classic, and my barely concealed revbob bait.
Who pfaffed the pfaff? Who got pfaffed tonight?

Love it! I gotta dig up my old copy of "Yankees Raus".

This should have been the German band to break out not the Scorpions .

Hello,

Here goes -
Kraftklub - good new wave guitar rock - I like the vocal stylings - this sound like a early 80's new wave song I never heard.

Die Zinnforster - good solid rock stuff - kind of standard rock but there's nothing wrong with that if it's good/catchy - and this is.

Monopol - prototypical German new wave (at least to my American-centric ears) - these guys could have played the theme song for Dieter on Sprockets (does anyone remember?).

2Raumwohnug - decent light song - this could be expanded (more instrumentation and...stuff) and be better.

Slime - great track - it hits the right balance of shouting and singing with speed and chaos and control - this is fun.

Thanks for posting - alles neu fur mich.

Kraftklub
On it's own, I like the music and on it's own I like the vocal but something is not totally connecting for me. I think the vocal deserves something more intense but maybe I'm too influenced by the video.

Die Zinnforster
If I was being ultra-critical, I'd say it could lose the last 90 seconds but otherwise it's the sort of stuff I like when it's on but not enough to buy

Monopol
I hesitate to use the word 'quirky' because some might think it a euphemism for not very good but I like this a lot, so I mean it more genuinely. It's probably the most interesting thing I've heard in a few weeks.

2RAUMWOHNUNG
I like this one a lot too. I got into it more and more the longer it went on. I find it very compelling and it's definitely got some earworm quality

Slime
The kind of "filler" you get on a compilation between the "big" songs. I don't mean filler as an insult either, just that I'd go in (and did go in here) with no real expectations but am now happy to have heard it.

Two clear favourites for me... Monopol and 2RAUMWOHNUNG and it's hard to pick a winner. It's probably just about 2RAUMWOHNUNG because it's already kind of stuck in my head and I want to listen again.
Putting a little stick about. Putting the frighteners on flash little twerps

I've haven't participated in the last couple offerings—I assumed the interest had dried up—so it wouldn't be right for me to put together my own list.

His desire to kill Gene Simmons is almost Oedipal.
