Say what you like about Phil but this is an excellent song.
I've always loved this track, if only for the faint '1-2-3-4' count in. Genesis channelling their inner Ramones.

Check out their "Duke" LP which is where this track is from. The whole thing is good from front to back.

Elvis in Concert is a bad release. Elvis is in bad form (and near the end) and the production work is shoddy and the cover is awful (don't even get me started on the font).
Yeah, the cover is just dumb. And what with the fan comments between the songs? It's taken from a TV Special isn't it? Probably still available somewhere, but I could never bring myself to watch it because it would depress me too much.

I thought some of the songs were decent though, one or two pretty good versions even. But it's been a long time since I gave it a spin.
It was a CBS TV special that was broadcast in October 1977. I guess that makes this LP a soundtrack of sorts??

It is a fine track. A song in search of a better band.

How about George Formby? Not really slated but hardly popular. Try this for size, most of his records had great musical arrangements, usually innuendo fuelled lyrics and more often than not, a fantastic solo on the banjolele as the finale. Absolutely love this one,

George is great.

"Mr Wu" as sampled by BAD on "Dragon Town".

Can't see your video but I once found a vinyl copy of a GF album in my Dad's record collection and loved it. When I'm feeling nostalgic, I play George and some of my Dad's other favourites.

One of his best. I've got a uke myself and it's astounding how easy George made it look. His strumming patterns were always spot on and trying to replicate them are nearly impossible.

A lot of people think George Formby was a just a singer of jokey songs but he was a damn good musician. Those solos with their superfast triplets and choppy syncopated chords take some skill !
