Being from SC she had several. Goose Creek (duck ditch) was the one lazy stand ups attacked. There was also Monck’s Corner (monkey’s corner), Hanahan (Klanahan), and of course I briefly lived in Summerville (Scummerville). Oh, and of course the part of Charleston left of the Ashley river (West Trashley) wasn’t really known for rednecks, the pun was right there so we used it.
One of our friends in grad school, Scott French, was from Summerville. Nice guy and one of the first Southerners we met when we moved who took it upon themselves to acculturate us.
(Klanahan's a really good renaming.)
