A Safe Place for Unpopular Music

Post by WestwayKid »

I have way too much music, but recently I've scrolled through my collection and have struggled to find anything I wanted to listen to. The other day - and I don't even know how I picked it - I played "Duke" by Genesis and it's a really listenable LP. It's definitely a post-Gabriel LP, but Collins hasn't yet taken over. The songs are surprisingly muscular and melodic and "Turn It On Again" remains a really great track.

Oh geez, I'm not going to get started in this thread.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Is this the place to profess my love for Chaka Khan's "Ain't Nobody" and Shannon's "Let the Music Play?"
