Re: The New Ska Thread
That's a great lineup. There's so much good ska coming out these days, feels like we're in a bit of a renaissance. I'm especially digging that Catbite tune (and the bosstones of course)
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead
Pex Lives!

I like Catbite a lot. Got their album on a bandcamp Friday a while back and it’s great.

I need to pick up that Bad Operation album. Everything I’ve heard of theirs is phenomenal.

Hello,
Thanks for this. The Mighty Mighty Bosstones' new album probably won't offer much in terms of surprises but it will in all likelihood offer quality. The bands in the article are good. Another source for ska that has been pretty active is Jump Up Records (http://www.jumpuprecords.com/). Visit them and check out some of their roster. Most bands there are a little more laid back/jazzy/R&B/reggae-ish but worth investigating.

Yeah Ive gotten some great stuff thru them over the years. I think they are strictly or mostly vinyl these days though.gkbill wrote: ↑07 Mar 2021, 11:27pmHello,

The old ska thread is dead. Long live The New Ska Thread.

Here's a nice interview with Dicky Barrett about the new Bosstones albums: https://www.punktuationmag.com/the-migh ... -for-life/

Re: The New Ska Thread
That was a good interview, but it feels absolutely weird that the interviewer was unfamiliar with them at all. I get it, it's been 20-odd years since they were in any way a presence on the charts, but still...Flex wrote: ↑21 Apr 2021, 4:42pmHere's a nice interview with Dicky Barrett about the new Bosstones albums: https://www.punktuationmag.com/the-migh ... -for-life/
