This Is the Modern World
In the City
The Gift

EDIT: the first three are very close to each other. Small drop then the next two are neck-and-neck. I just never cared for The Gift.

Ps. I don't think your "redundant threads have spammed up the forum." You and a few other new members have been a breath of fresh air recently.
You only like new members because they lower your chances of being the member with the worst takes.
True....true.
And yet, like an aging heavyweight boxer who relies more on guile than power, you’re still the champ.

Hah! never thought putting All Mod Cons #1 would be a contrarian move.

No love for The Gift?

I like All Mod Cons a great deal, but Weller's songwriting would mature to a more interesting place over the next few Jam albums.

Some love, just not enough. Precious, Ghosts, Carnation are all great Jam tracks (never liked 'Malice' much). I'm not a fan of the production to be fair, not sure what Peter Wilson did in the sessions but it lacks the emotion found on the early Jam albums... to my ears at least! What's against it also is I grew up with The Jam, All Around The World was my first vinyl purchase, so maybe I was just done with them? I prefer the early Style Council records to The Gift.

I get what you mean about the production. I do love Running On the Spot though, one of Weller's very finest lyrics for me.
