Hah! never thought putting All Mod Cons #1 would be a contrarian move.
No love for The Gift?
Some love, just not enough. Precious, Ghosts, Carnation are all great Jam tracks (never liked 'Malice' much). I'm not a fan of the production to be fair, not sure what Peter Wilson did in the sessions but it lacks the emotion found on the early Jam albums... to my ears at least! What's against it also is I grew up with The Jam, All Around The World was my first vinyl purchase, so maybe I was just done with them? I prefer the early Style Council records to The Gift.

I get what you mean about the production. I do love Running On the Spot though, one of Weller's very finest lyrics for me.
