Got Any Cool Vinyl?

Got these two from juno for 18.99 each, decent pressings and includes lyric sheets...didn't notice the 77-79 one but that has been rectified! How this has not been shut down by Sony I don't know...but nice to have the singles to play without changing the singles every 5 mins...IMG-20240225-WA0001.jpeg17088797119927459882419337741740.jpg

I saw them. Yep very surprised they are out there. Not a lot of effort has gone into them. Sticking on live tracks where others are missing like the live "Career Opportunities" in the place where "Sex Mad War" should be.

It's not very definitive being they spread them over three albums. "Police on My Back" included as a foreign regions single but they clearly didn't care enough about "Train in Vain" "Rudie Can't Fail" etc and then there is the "Are You Red...Y" / "Three Card Trick" single issued in Australia. Could've filled 6 albums with all the variants and 12" mixes.

A very naughty cash-in release.

Correct on all points, however you know I'm a sucker for vinyl records! They sound really good however it doesn't really say where the music is sourced...just what 7inch singles they were from...anyway I await the best one 77!

They will be no doubt be sourced from CD.

Indeed but I wonder if its the mick remasters? You can tell its a cd pressed in to vinyl but doesn't have the depth of sound or sound stage as the originals or the hits back comp...or story of the clash which I personally find to be the ultimate sounding clash record...straight to hell sounds unbelievable on that record for some reason.

Got these from the BBC archives, sleeves have been laminated/riveted but that's negated by the interesting bbc labels and booking sheets with each one. The buzzcocks have bookings out by who I asume were producers for radio and possibly TV dating back to 78! The records themselves are mint. Really happy with these artifacts, if you heard ever fallen in love on BBC radio in the late 70s then it its quite possible that this was the actual disc it was played from!

Correct most are no.2 but still have early air play and love bites is no 1! So it may well be the source of the first time those songs were first ever played!... even though chaos uk (which amazed me to even be in the archive) only has one booking on the slip it means that the record is perfect and plays like new!

And yes I should have said, the bbc archive auction was clearing the racks of duplicate lps. Some are the 1st copy some are the 2nd...all of which have been played I think...I told my mate about the auction and he picked up 11 boxes of all sorts...he picked out the punk stuff I'd be interested in before listing them on discogs and I got only what I could "afford" plenty of others I wanted...like the ejected 1st 2 albums....

In the BBC archive there are 700,000 vinyl records, 180,000 78's records, 400,000 LP records and 350,000 Cd's in the archive.

Think you're going to need a bigger room mate.
