Check out their album The Kingdom is on Fire first if you're interested. They're definitely pretty bleak, but kinda cartoonishly. I think they (and Those Poor Bastards who they're pal withs) are kinda like if the misfits played americana. Just goofy gothic/horror shit.

I don't know why, but after checking out a few songs on The Kingdom is on Fire, I'm somehow thinking about the movie "O Brother Where Art Thou?".

Today is record store day so I went to one of the few stores near me that's participating. Had to wait in a line about 25 deep for almost an hour, unfortunately they didn't receive any copies of Joe Strummer "Junco Partner" picture disc. But they did have this reissue of Joey Ramone "Don't Worry About Me" on splattered colored vinyl, so it wasn't a total loss.

Not a huge U2 fan, but I'm a sucker for picture discs, so I picked this up at record store day as well.
40th anniversary edition of the release of "Fire" on a 12" two sided picture disc.

Not mine, but my younger niece has been collecting vinyl for a couple of years now and sent me this picture of one of her finds.

Spent quarantine starting a record collection. I was surprised at how cheap it was to build a respectable bedrock collection of staples (London Calling, the best of Hank Williams, Gil Scott Heron, stuff like that). So these were the spendy ones you're probably not gonna find outside of discogs:
The Pogues with Joe Strummer - Live in London
The Pogues - Pogues in Paris 30th Anniversary
The Blasters - S/T
Kathleen Edwards - Asking for Flowers
George Harrison - All Things Must Pass (original pressing yeehaw)
Tom Petty - Live Anthology (extremely worth it)
Chuck Berry - The Great 28 (the five LP one, also extremely worth it)
Billy Joe Shaver - Old Five and Dimers (RIP to the king)
Billy Joe Shaver - Unshaven (RIP again, stupid covid)
The Go-Betweens - 16 Lovers Lane
Warren Zevon - Stand in the Fire Deluxe (this came out just this year and nobody knows about it at all for some reason, but it's worth the horrifying price tag: it's more than twice as long as the original and nearly twice as good. There's at least a whole side on this album that's not available digitally at all, songs like A Certain Girl and Roland The Headless Thompson Gunner.)

That is definitely a "cool vinyl" collection you've got there CorwoodRep. I've only been able to find a digital copy of Elvis Costello - Live at the El Mocambo, I'd be all over it if I stumbled upon a actual 1978 promo vinyl copy.

FYI, Record Store Day is tomorrow, Saturday 7/17/21. The Clash "If Music Could Talk" double album may be available depending on what your local record store was able to get a hold of.

If Music Could Talk is a 1980 interview album with The Clash - Joe Strummer, Mick Jones, Paul Simonon and Topper Headon – in brief conversation with their trusted management rep/fixer/consigliere Kosmo Vinyl. Originally only available as a promotional LP for US radio ahead of the release of The Clash’s 4th album Sandinista!, If Music Could Talk will be released for the first time as a limited edition double 180g vinyl package with new artwork as part of RSD Drops. The cover art is an homage to Nicaraguan rebel leader Augusto César Sandino – the original Sandinista – done by Kosmo Vinyl, who also supplies the liner notes on the back alongside a rare Pennie Smith band photo. If Music Could Talk features the band talking about and introducing tracks, along with those tracks themselves (using the latest band-approved remasters).
