Great album. I like that they have chosen alternative takes for the vinyl, that's a nice touch. I see there's also a 7" of "I Hate Music" available. I hope 'Let It Be" gets a super deluxe.
I'm hoping Rhino sells enough of this one to motivate them to dig deep and find enough material to continue with these box sets. I'd like to see both "Let It Be" & "Tim" reissued in a similar fashion.
Those would be great. Then hopefully I can invite Mr. Whirly around later for a Hootananny. ;)

You sure you don't mean the repress of the 'I'm In Trouble' single?

Yeah I misread this "A previously unreleased studio demo of “I Hate Music” is available to listen to now." Still I'll make my own box set with any 7" I choose. 🤣

New video out for "Takin' A Ride" from the upcoming box set. The star of the video is "Frank" the dog who rides shotgun while cruising around Minneapolis. Also some very cool cameo appearances by Anita Stinson Kurth (Bob & Tommy's mother), Lonnie Stinson (sister) & Paul' sister, Mary Lucia.

Article about all the iconic Minneapolis locations highlighted in the video.

Got some basic ass questions: Who is the dude driving the car? Kinda looks like Paul, but not really. And the two dudes in the record shop?
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

According to the article, there are quite a few cameos. Guy driving the car is Jon Clifford, owns a popular record store, jacket he's wearing actually belongs to Slim Dunlap. Fred the dog is a rescue dog owned by Jon.
Guys in the record shop are Kevin Cole (Minneapolis club DJ back in the Mats days & now on KEXP) Steve McClellan (worked at First Avenue for 30 years).
