The All-Asshole Band

Post by Dr. Medulla »

I think we can all agree that an all-asshole band would consist of:

Mike Love: Vocals, ballcaps
Morrissey: Vocals
Kid Rock: Backing Vocals
Gene Simmons: Bass
Eric Clapton: Guitar
Ted Nugent: Guitar
Lars Ulrich: Drums, fan relations
Ginger Baker: Drums
Kenny G: Saxophone
Varg Vikernes: Keyboards

So we need a drummer, maybe a second guitarist, and keyboard person. Appointing a manager would be redundant for an all-asshole band.

edit: Or maybe Morrissey is worse than Mike Love?

edit ii: I'll update the roster in this post.

Phil Collins on drums?
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I say make him play rhythm to knock his ego down a notch or two.

Fully endorse this!

Yeah, I'm saying no to Phil Collins. He gets a bad reputation at times, but there are just as many sources who say he's a pretty decent guy.

I'm nominating Lars Ulrich as the drummer.

It takes a bold dick to claim outsider status yet also side with record industry against the fans.

Hello,

Phil Collins isn't an asshole - his music sucks, but he's not an asshole as a bonus.

His voice doesn't help perception of him either. Napster stuff is pretty indefensible though. Beyond that he seems alright. Not sure who else would get it beyond the typical wife beating, alcoholic misogynists like Moon or Bonham.
