The Years Ago thread

Post by Inder »

Plexamp introduced an “X-years ago” feature for your music library a while back and I’ve been meaning to do a thread like this based on Tep’s trivia calendars. Whenever I see a good one that is.

Today!

55 YA: Love release Da Capo
50 YA: Nilsson’s Nilsson Scmilsson, Mott the Hoople’s Brain Capers

55 years of an album that would be untouchable if it didn’t have an endless jam at the end.

But lament they'll never be as good as The Only Ones.

They had a song they were toying with called Another Bloke on Another Planet but it didn't seem to click so they tossed it.

I don't care what anyone says, Another Girl is a 10/10 perfect song. Has a better guitar solo than Paranoid as well.

As Matey familiarized himself with that song:
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.
